Christmas Card Featuring Lawn Fawn Winter In The Park

IMG_8026

I’m making this Christmas shaker card to Nelly. Please pardon my poor stamping skill. 😐 I have used the snow marker to make a layer of snow on the bench but it became a place to catch those glitter. :p Also, the sentiment “season’s greetings” was being covered by the glitter as well. As such, I have die cut the scripty “Merry Christmas” from Lawn fawn and adhered it on the acetate of the shaker card.

Christmas Cards Using Patterned Papers

Christmas is just 2 months away and it’s time to make some Christmas cards to give them to my friends.

I have made 3 simple Christmas cards using patterned papers today. You can make beautiful cards just by layering some patterned papers and it doesn’t take a lot of time. 🙂

Tri-fold Shutter Card Tutorial

20150607_141450Tired of plain looking bi-fold card? Why not try this tri-fold shutter card. 🙂

Supplies needed:

20150607_103047

One 5.5″ by 12″ cardstock Scoring Board (I used Martha Stewart) Paper Trimmer Patterned Paper (I used 6″ by 6″ paper pad) Bone Folder Adhesive (either tape runner or liquid glue)

Step 1:

If you are using 12″ by 12″ cardstock, cut down the cardstock to 5.5″ by 12″ using the paper trimmer.

Step 2:

Place the cardstock on the scoring board horizontally. Score at 2″, 4″, 8″ and 10″ (the dotted lines in the picture below).

Step 3:

20150607_132106

Place the scored sheet on paper trimmer, rotating so the 5.5” piece is across the top of paper trimmer. Measure 1.5” from the left side of the paper and cut between the top score line (at 2″) down to the bottom score line (at 10″). (cut line is the black line in picture). Move the cut paper over to the left and cut again at 4 “ between the top score line down to the bottom score line.

Step 4:

20150607_132147

Fold the card on the score line pieces as in the first photo below using the Mountain and Valley Folds to complete the base project. Tip: Start by folding the two outside strips first and then the larger center piece is folded in the opposite of the side pieces. Then fold over towards the right to complete the card formation as in second photo to form the card. Basically the card base is done! You can now decorate the card with patterned papers.

Steps for cutting down the patterned papers: 20150607_141523

Cut the patterned papers to adhere to base as follows: Cut 2 pieces of 1.75” X 5.25” patterned paper Cut 2 pieces of 1.75” X 2.25” of same patterned paper Cut 2 pieces of 3.75” X 1.25” of same patterned paper Cut 4 pieces of 1.75” X 1.25” of same patterned paper Cut 1 piece of 3.75” X 2.25” patterned paper Now it is done. You can embellish the card further. Since I am using a Christmas themed pattern paper for this tutorial, I will leave it as done for now. I shall complete this card when Christmas is approaching. 🙂 This is how the card looks like when the card is closed:
